Day 7

This time last Monday, I was almost to the hospital. Sorry for waiting so long to post, I tried from the hospital from my phone but was having intermitent connection issues. Then thought, long and hard about hooking up the laptop but lack of intiative won that battle, might of had something to do with the dope on a rope, not sure.
Surgery was great, pain was what I expected, hospital and staff couldnt of been better. I still have another week of liquids, which seems to be the biggest battle now.
Everything I put in is liquid or Jello so everything comes out as liquid from both exits, is that normal?
I feel fine from the pain perspective, no oxy sense Friday early morning and have been getting my liquid in too. Heak Friday I even walked for like 30 mins in the gym, slowly of course.
No headaches, body aches, etc except a lil pain from the drain site. Oh and a couple of times I was a lil light headed after standing up.
So really my concerns are the water in and water out and a couple of light headed moments.

To my surgery sisters and brother, Dani, Pooti, Lawth
Hope things are finding you well...

Thoughts, comments, etc...

the "liquid only out" sitch... totally normal.  You have nothing solid in ur system.  don't worry about it!  ur fine.  Congrats on having the surgery, G!  Sip sip sip and walk walk walk.  When i was a week out, I was totally struggling to get all my protein in.  Then at my 2 wk followup w/my surgeon, he told me that they do not expect anyone to get in all 80+ grams of protein in during the first couple of weeks.  Don't worry about it.  Just get ur strength back and build up your water and walking.

Glad to see you back and posting. What you're going through is totally normal.

I know it's a pain to be on liquids for a week but it's well worth it. You'll get a great "jump start" on your weight loss. Be sure to follow all your doctor's advice. The local people I've seen that have done the best have religiously followed the post-op diet.

Best of luck.

hey sweety,

Well I'm definately doing better this week than I was last week..  My doctor said that the surgery went great, couldnt have been better.  Recovery was fine... then Tuesday came.. I had the most unbelievable gas pains you could ever imagine.. The said walk walk walk well I did and thought OMG im dying... FInally after a diet change to full liquids, off the morphine pump and some milk of magnesia - well not to give TMI but I was finally feeling relief.    I came home Wed. feeling pretty good then started feel kinda crummy - went to my PCP and had double outter ear infections... UGGGHHHH.. so the until Sunday I battled fevers, pain and oh of course all the things that came with surgery.

MONDAY - felt pretty good and its just getting better everday. I'm definately not getting all my protein but what I do get in i am thankful.

Sending huggs..
