2 Years later feeling great but these fricken kidney stones
Its been over a year since I was last here and I am happy to say that I am post 2 years and feeling great.
I had some painful kidney stones issues back in August and it seems to be an on going thing. Just small episodes here and there about once every 3 weeks or so. Doctor suspect it could be becuase of my calcium intake. There is not much he can do so he says. So, I won't know for sure until I get real insurance again and I am able to return to my awesome team of doctors that I had before so they can run every test possible to find out what is really going on.
Has anyone else had kidney stone issues?
It was recommended by a friend for me to drink lots of pineapple juice to help break down calcium stones and flush them out.
Don't know..

Congrat on your 2-year success. That's wonderful.
While I haven't had kidney stone issues (yet) I've been told that your ketosis level can contribute to kidney stones. I would suggest going to the drug store and getting some KetoStix (over the counter item) and start tracking your ketosis level.
During the initial weight loss stages your ketosis levels can be fairly high. But, if they stay high then a side effect is the kidney stones.
The KetoStix that I use indicates levels from 0 to 100. During rapid weight loss my level was about 40 and it has now dropped to 5. I suspect that yours (at 2 years) should be between 0 and 5. Higher than that probably indicates that your body is still feeding on your body for fat and is not getting enough carbs from your diet.
Not sure this is accurate or helpful but it's something to consider.
