I am a member on here but i am trying to contact any one that may have had contact with lou/louise morrison of aberdeen scotland. Lou passed away from multiple organ failure due to malnutrition. i am desperate to talk with members who may have had regular contact with her. i remember big mama passed away and it shocked her. please reply if you knew her.

I don't know her and I'm sorry to hear about her passing. I hear that you are scared as you await your revision surgery. Many people have revision surgery. And yes, WLS is surgery and there can be complications as with any surgery on the body. But these days, fatal complications from WLS (the surgery itself) are pretty rare. It sounds like Lou's multiple organs shutting down from malnutrition might have been avoided. Many people do not follow their doctor's orders as it relates to their nutrition after WLS.
I had my gastric bypass almost 18 months ago, have lost 135 lbs and have been stable at this weight for about 5 months. I've had absolutely no complications whatsoever. I feel fantastic. And I followed ALL of my doctor's orders throughout my WLS journey and continue to do so.
You can absolutely be successful with your sleeve. I believe in you!

Thank you for replying. I am very alone and isolated due to the weight and disability. You are right my friends death could have been avoided.
The psychiatrist had her admited with anorexia over a year ago. They force fed her and the weight went on in pockets like squashed golf balls on her hips and tum n legs. the distortion was unbearable when she had worked so hard to go to the gymn and tone. she had very little loose skin so never needed loose skin removal. I want to remember her at her best.
I was trying to make contact as i sensed something wasnt right. She was in the hospital and they took her phone from her as she was rambling and not making sense when she phoned people. She said to her kids she was getting tests to see why things were not improving but it was too late .
I wasnt there at the end and the guilt will be with me a long time. Her son allowed me to pick a song for her funeral and a hymn which helped me feel close to how i wanted it to be if i had to lose her i at least wanted to be a part of her passing ceremony.
It is still a long wait for me, but i need something to stop me binging.
It's not that i do it alot . its the fact i am already so over weight that most of what i eat turns to fat as i can't exercise yet. i did say yet, so i believe in the future i gues.
