OK, time for the third installment. FYI, don't feel like you have to provide all your weight info (that's just the format I use). Feel free to participate if you only want to log your change this week.

Highest Weight: 310 lbs
Surgery Weight: 300 lbs (on 08 Oct 10)
Last Week’s Weight: 222 lbs
Current Weight: 218 lbs

Total Loss: 92 lbs (from highest weight)
Total Post-Surgery Loss: 82 lbs
Weekly Loss: 4 lbs

Ketosis Level: 15 (light)

I’ve now lost the combined equivalent of a new born calf and a rack of baby back ribs.

My ketosis level dropped dramatically this week which is a concern. But, I did “cheat" last Sunday (after weighing in) and had a slice of cake. That was the first intentional carb intake since September. So, no more added carbs for me.

Well no substanial loss but its very obvious i've dropped the weight and i'm looking very healthy according to my labs.  I'm not quite 3 months out, My vitamin D level has also been off the charts low, even its up to a normal level of 42 now.  Life is good!!!

Hey, even if the scales aren't moving much at least the inches are coming off.

I think I mentioned before that I usually lose pounds one week and then inches the next week. Seems like a "normal" cycle for people like us.

Keep up the good work and positive attitude.

FAIL!  I'm still in a plateau...and now with elevated liver enzymes and mild anemia.  Go me.

Weight as of today:  229.8
Last week:  229.3

My caloric intake has been less than 800 all week long and I've gained.  What the hell?

Hang in there Leza. Your body is still adjusting to the changes. The scale will start dropping again.

Very sorry to hear about the liver issue and anemia. Very glad you're keeping an eye on those things.

Good news!  My surgeon and his PA went over my labs (I scanned and emailed them to him) and said that the liver enzyme elevation is totally normal under ketosis b/c the liver is working hard to metabolize all the fat I'm losing.  She said they only worry if the enzymes are 3 times higher than what they should be.  I had already upped my iron from 30mg to 65mg before the labs came back b/c of my fatigue.  They want me to recheck them in 2-3 months.

The plateau was totally related to the cycle b/c I just dropped 1.5 pounds in 2 days.

Great news on the enzyme level. Didn't realize that ketosis would affect the liver. Still, glad they're keeping an eye on things.

FYI, you've got me wondering about my levels. Haven't had any blood work since my surgery 4 months ago. Going to the doc for a check-up in about a week. Will check with him to see if I need to have levels checked.

Very happy to hear the weight is coming off again.
