My 5 week update

Today, I am 5 weeks post-op.  I threw out the readings from the Wii Balance Board b/c they are false and I cannot rely on them (my carpet is too thick and the risers that came with it were lost in one of my moves).  So I bought a digital scale today at Costco (along with my new microwave).  I stepped on still in my sweats and at the end of a day that I spent running around town....236.7 pounds!!!!!

So from 12/14/10 to 1/18/2011 I have lost 33.4 pounds.

12/14: 270.1
12/30: 249.9
1/4: (snuck a peek on our pediatrician's scale during a sick visit): 244.8
1/18/11: 236.7

Honestly, I haven't been exercising as much as I'd like (okay, not at all in about a week).  My heels and ankles really hurt with activity and I'm waiting for my Achilles supports to come in.  I did buy some heel supports (gel)...more like heel cups and they work pretty well, but I need to heal this tendonitis.

My student aid disbursement came in today and instead of spending it all eating out with the family (I did treat Erin to breakfast at Dennys....I finished exactly one egg and 2 bites of chicken sausage before throwing in the towel), I paid some bills, ordered my textbooks and got my Rec Center membership for the girls and I (Erin didn't want one).  I enrolled them in T-Ball and Dance and bought them swim suits so we can hit the indoor pool together.  I don't do swimsuits....I do trunks and tank tops, lol.

I also bought Active 2 for Wii, traded in all my sedentary Wii games (not that I'd really played much anyway) for Nickelodeon Fit and Just Dance Kids for the offspring.  Soooooo much fun seeing them get into it!  I am looking into the aqua classes at the Rec.  I know they're supposed to have some kind of Aqua Zumba, which sounds like fun!!!

Food is getting easier to handle, even though I have had a few episodes of food getting stuck, so I have a metric ass-ton of papaya enzyme chewables.  Unfortunately, I do not dump with refined carbs (although I won't dare try and eat actual sweets or fried food) and can handle them in VERY minute quantities.  I've never eaten white bread (unless I make it myself), but I have switched to whole grain flat breads for things like low carb pizza, etc.  I am changing up our kitchen and got rid of all the canned and packaged crap that we had and replaced it with better quality stuff for my family and I.  My girls are starting to really enjoy veggies and I am soooo thrilled about that!!!!!

Girl... ur kickin' azz!!!  So proud of you.  Keep it up.  And I totally get the exercise thing... When I was heavy I had a really hard time w/plantar fascitis (sp?)  I'd go for a hike and then would be in pain limping for 3 days.  So you just need to find some sort of exercise that doesn't cause you pain.  Bike riding did the trick for me while I was droppin dem lbs.  I did  a lot of biking in the first 6 mos post op until i had dropped enough weight that the plantar fascitis went away.  Now I have no probs w/the feetsies anymore.

You'll get there honey.  Keep on keepin' on!  ((hugs))

Thanks y'all!  This has been a pretty wild 5 weeks!  I just plugged my new information into OH Body Tracker and my BMI has gone from 47.8 to 40.6!!!  Not much further before I am below 40 :)
