Plastic surgery
Hi all,
I am 6 days out from plastic surgery. I had hernia repair, fleur de lis, panniculectomy and mastopexy - many incisions all over my chest. I only paid for the breast as insurance covered the panniculectomy and hernia repair/fleur-de-lis. So far, my recovery seems easier than right after the gastric bypass. I am not as weak or worried.
The two breast drains came out today and the boobs moved from an ace wrap into a sports bra. 3 more abdominal drains for at least another week. And belly compression band for 6 weeks.
Advice so far -
Don't worry about leaving hospital immediately (went home 10 am the next morning)
Ride home (1.5 hours) was ok with pain meds
Take pain meds
Plan where you are going to sit and sleep at home (recliner?) - have lots of pillows handy
Have a lanyard and safety pins handy for drain attachment
Have easy to eat foods (seem set back to strict portion and protein rules of early post-op bypass)
I'll let everyone know how everything progresses.
Meg
