I hve gained 5 lbs...
I am a lapband post-op an can't speak to the sleeve. However, I am 30 months post-op and can tell you that weight loss immediately after surgery is unpredictable. I've seen people lose little and end up being a huge loser over a year. The reverse also applies. Follow the program and surgeon's directions. You will be fine. I know I was always angry at myself when I gained even a few pounds. Some good advice a fellow chatter gave me back then is to look at this long-term. In 5 years, this 5 pound weight gain will have no importance at all. -- Tom

I'm having a similar problem... I had RNY on 11/23 and lost 14 lbs of water weight that I gained in the hospital, then another 17 lbs in a matter of about a week an a half. For the past week, I haven't lost any weight and have gained 3 lbs back... I feel like I'm hardly eating anything, so don't understand how I can be gaining and not losing...
so assuming your phase 2 diet did not add an extra 18,000 calories (which you would need to gain 5 actual pounds) you are probably ok. weight does not move up or down in a straight line. It fluctuates a bit for all sorts of reasons. dehydration, hormones and constipation to name a few. just relax and stay away from the scale for a bit. you will do great, and will lose the weight. good luck.
Don't know about sleeves...but just wanted to add that weight can be impacted by sodium (retain water), and constipation.....have you been working out more? Sometimes muscle too, which is why the scale isn't always the best way to judge how you are doing.
I over did the fiber and thought I had gained 5 pounds....took about ten days but finally lost it all and my clothes all fit a lot better. I know, TMI...sorry!
If you are following your program and doing what you are supposed to you should be okay in the long run....don't stress, it adds belly fat!!
