Had one of the greatest days ever.
Hello all this is joe again and i just wanted to share what a great great day i had yesterday. We have a local state park around my area and yesterday was too beautiful not to get out and enjoy what this new gift has given me. I walked at least a couple miles each way and let me tell you that trail kicked my butt lol. I think mostly because i showed up in the wrong shoes, but what an enjoyable day. After walking i had sometime to reflect and am so glad i am on the right track, also i decided to start doing a blog on youtube to help keep track of my journey if anybody is interested i'll post the link at the bottom. It has been too long since i got out and enjoyed this thing called life like i should. I just feel really good now and life is 100% better. I posted some pics of my outing in my profile. I hope everyone has a great day!

Joe, you are doing great!! Your energy level seems to be increasing (mine seemed to take a step back this week).
Watched your YouTube blog and it's great. I didn't realize there were so many post-op people posting there. Lots of inspiring stories and yours is one of them.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to your posts here.

Thanks, I feel more energized that's for sure and now that i got past that speed bump i had, I am Feeling 100% like i never have. I just wanted to post on youtube to share my story and journey with others that are in question or are still in the begining process of this amazing ride. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a great day.
Hiking the state parks of the Finger Lakes region has been one of my real joys since losing all the weight. The gorge parks have lots of stairs and steep, steep climbs because of all the wonderful waterfalls. When I first moved up here, I went to one that is very challenging at the bottom - trail on the edge of very large waterfall. After a few hundred feet, I started to have chest pain and ended up going to the local ER. No real issues but scared the crap out of me. Now I can march up the gorge trails and hike down the rim trails, with a group, talking the whole two hours!!!! I am not sure where in PA you live but consider the trails up here.
I live 4 hours away from the pa ny state line so probably be a little to far for me, but i am so glad there are so mant thing to do around my area and lots of excercise to be had. I'm glad you are OK. I started to feel my heart beat really intensly because i was speed walking and there were lots of hills on this trail but thankfully it passed and i kept on moving. Have a good day.

I've experienced this a couple of times doing "stuff" at my mountain get-away. At first I thought I was just trying to do too much. But, I now wondering if that wasn't a warning that I wasn't getting enough hydration.
Be sure when you're out and about that you sip more than usual. I've found that even "casual" things I did before surgery seem to require more hydration and frequent rests.
