Hey G. I personally do not know of any poz-friendly bari surgeons. But I know they are certainly out there. There are a few poz folks that frequent this board. So you should hear something on here soon.

You don't say where in the Midwest you are, but my suggestion would be to start with the big teaching hospitals. Northwestern or U Chicago in Chicago, UW in Madison, etc. I had my surgery at Northwestern and I know the surgeons there treat a wide variety of patients with lots of different issues. I don't specifically know about HIV, but teaching hospitals especially in bigger cities are good places to start.

My other suggestion is to contact primary care practices that specialize in treating HIV. They will probably be able to make a referral. Good luck.
