Asking for your support
GLBT WLS Friends,
Next weekend I will be cycling in the 2010 MS Pedal to the Point bicycle ride from Middleburg heights, Ohio to Sandusky, Ohio (Cedar Point Amusement Park) and back. That's 75 miles on Saturday and 75 miles on Sunday. This is my major personal goal for the year. I appreciate the support I have enjoyed in this community over the past 2+ years. I have made so many friends. This will be a major accomplishment for me. I have never cycled 150 miles in a single weekend. If you would like to support my ride for MS, you can donate on-line via http://tinyurl.com/pedaltopoint.
Thanks for your support and I'll be back to tell you about the ride on the 16th.

I am newish here and don't know you but I am sure you can do it. I did the California AIDS Ride many years ago as a personal challenge. The most important thing I learned, that I still use in life, is that it's not a race, it's a ride. You will meet great people and get support as you ride. And you just keep pushing the pedals around. On the big hills, just look down at the road, not at the top of the hill. And remember, you can do almost anything for 10 more minutes. Plus, there is this great thing called adrenaline that hits and you will feel great. All the best and congrats for doing something that is both important to you and will help so many others.
Thanks for your support. I know that there will be people on the ride who are in Sandusky and and on roller coasters before noon. My plan is maintain an average of 12 -14 mph. It should get me there sometime around 3:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m. depending on the rest breaks. This ride has excellent support. I am looking forward to it and the challenges it brings.
Congrats on the California AIDS ride. Michael, another WLS chatter who had surgery about the same time as I did, has ridden it for the past two years. I think that will make a nice goal for me in the coming years.
