Ok, well I've been out (surgery) 11 months and I feel great.  I have lost 100 pounds but feel like I'm done losing.  I still have 40 more to go!  I'm starving and think about food all the time!  I am doing pretty well with sticking to my new way of eating, though, THANK GOD.  I do exercise about 1/2 hour 5 days a week but its not very vigorous.  But, I feel so gloomy like my sunshine has gone behind the clouds :(  What do you all think about this?  Do you experience the same feelings?  I love you all and thanks.  always, Jill

Hi There Jill,

I'm almost 8 months out from my revision and I feel I am just about done. It gets me down sometimes, but I am going to throw myself into a good, low-carb eating plan. Don't feel gloomy, you've done a great job losing 100, and you're a success if you took off that much of the excess weight.

Focus on exercise and getting your body toned as best you can. Remember, the numbers on the scale don't define you as a person! I have to tell myself that all the time. Hang in there!

Hi Jill,

I'm 11 months out as well, and I feel I'm almost done losing. I want to lose about another 22 pounds all together. I try not to get myself down about because I have realized that I have come so far. I have lost 135 pounds, and I used to not be able to do so much. Walking up my stairs at home was hard. My knees hurt and I was short of breath. Now I run up and down my stairs and I walk 2-3 miles a day, 5 days a week. I guess what I'm getting at is...don't focus on the numbers...think about how you feel, and what your body can do now that you had a hard time doing before..You have done an amazing job. Keep up the great work with your eating and exercise. I'm sure you'll lose a few more pounds in time. I'm so proud of you....no matter what the scale says, you are a winner hon!

Hey Jill!

Honey, you're doing fine. 11 months is a long time, and at the same time, it's a very short amount of time to lose 100 lbs and to change your lifestyle and eating habits. It's totally normal and understandable to go through a "pause period." I was questioning it myself - am I done losing weight? I'm down 126.6 lbs and still have 30.4 more to go to reach my goal. I was on a plateau for about 6 weeks. I knew I wasn't done losing weight and I just hunkered down and went back to the basics. I exercise a lot (90 min hikes 5 days a week) and I felt that I was eating pretty well. I went to my nutritionist for a tune up to figure out why I wasn't losing weight and what to change. She said I was doing everything as I should be, but I wasn't journaling my food - just guesstimating. So I started journaling everything I was eating tracking (portion, calories, carbs, proteins, & fat.) That totally did it for me. It brought my conscious awareness of what I was consuming up just a bit and I was making slightly different choices.

Try doing that. Change up your routine. Maybe increase your exercise to an hour vs. just 30 minutes. The last small amount of weight to shed is always the hardest. You can do this my friend! **hugs**

I love you too, Jill!  I just emailed the food tracker to you.  It's really easy and adds everything up for you.  This is the site that I use to identify the nutritional values (if the food is not a packaged food):  http://caloriecount.about.com/foods

Thx for the compliments!  My fiance was blown away! And to tell the truth I am blown away too!  That was the most perfect dress for the festivities.  And funny you mention the OH ad... I've decided to enroll in a 14 wk Bariatric Life Coach program.  By the end of the year, I'll be a certified Bariatric Life Coach!  Woo hoo!  I'm really excited about that.

Love you much honey.  And you know you can call me anytime!

Hi Jill!!,
I thinkwe have all been through this. I know when I hit a plateu I get thinking ohh am I all done losing. I track my foods every day and yes sometimes in a big pain the butt, but it really does help. I exercise about 90 minutes a day 5 times a week. One of the things that helps me, is I set really mini mini goals for myself. Like I will say okay if I get up every day during the work week and go to the gym before work for the next two weeks then I can buy myself that new shirt I wanted or buy myself something little that I want. Little treats or little rewards seem to work for me on my mini goals. You have done FANTASTIC losing 100 pounds!!!! The scale will start moving again in the negative direction, just keep working your program!!! You look great so let that sunshine shine on thru!!!
