Of course there will be appeals, but this was definitely a step in the right direction. Kudos to Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker.

 Yay!!!

I'm going out to celebrate.  I'm starting to love my home state all over again.  I will always love San Francisco.

Actually, I hope it does appeal to the Supreme Court. Then it will finally it will be declared unconstitutional everywhere. Call me a hopeless optimist, but I really can't see how the SC can rule differently after that brutal and sound logical and legal thumping, in addition to the multitudes of precedents.

Side note: Sadly I had quite the explosive argument with my father about this last night. He thinks Bill O'Reilly is too liberal, if that says anything. I just moved back home for the next half year while I wait for surgery (since my health is pretty poor right now) and take a semester off grad school. It's only week 2 and I'm already hiding in my bedroom like a highschooler all over again. Yep. Completely awesome. At least I have video games, I suppose. =P

Hang in there and good luck. We can pick our friends, but we can't pick our families, and we often differ in our opinions. I hope your health improves and that once you have surgery you'll be able to move on. :)

Yep, that's the plan. =]  We agreed to sweep it back under the rug, as usual. That rug looks like a beanbag chair these days.
