Almost fell into bad habits

Hey everyone,
So I guess every once in a while things need to come crashing down. Everything was going great, biking or kayaking or running every day with friends and I have a new girlfriend and life is good. Until Sunday night. I received a call from my bank card services for some unusual charges. I said well I haven't used my card since Friday. I was out of town Friday night-Sunday morning. They said can you verify the card is in your possession, so I went to my wallet and it was gone. Apparently it was stolen Friday. (Last time I used it was Friday morning) Long story short, whoever stole it has racked up quite a debt in my name. My account is negative almost $1000. Most of it being insufficient funds fees, which my bank is kindly retracting. Now more charges appear, and somehow they are being forced through which happens if you buy stuff on line. All the bills I have paid are on hold. Everything is on hold because all my accounts have been frozen and a fraud investigation has begun. The police are less than helpful and are not hopefully they will catch the person/people involved.
It just sucks that someone would take my card and my money and drain both my checking and my savings account. My card is set up so that if I overdraw  my account it hits my savings. Well both accounts are drained completely and into the negative. So moral of my story never ever ever leave you card unattended even if its in a drawer...make sure they drawer is locked and you take the keys with you.
I got so stressed last night that I turned to my girlfriend and said come on we need to go for a run. She looked at me and said Erin its 11:15pm and raining out. I said I know I know but I am extremely stressed out, and before I would eat junk food or just eat the pain away and that's really what i want to do right now so I need to do something constructive. So being the amazing supportive girlfriend she is, she got up out of bed, put on her exercise clothes and sneaks and we went for a run. Its really hard to not fall back into bad habits, anyone else find it hard??
have a great week
~~Erin

Good for you for being strong enough to overcome the temptation...I am not sure I would have gotten out of bed! I hope they find the scum who did this and things get back to noemal asap for you.

Hang in there, and I'm very sorry you were the victim of theft. It's definitely hard not to turn back to the comfort of food, especially naughty food. Believe me, I know, I've had that struggle this week.

Please, get in touch with all 3 credit bureaus and get a freeze put on your credit reports. This will prevent someone from taking out more credit in your name.

Hope this helps and I hope things go easier for you. Hang in there, I'm proud of you for handling temptation. I have found it very hard NOT to slip back into bad habits lately. I'm going through some emotional crap and I really have to kick my own butt.
