This board needs more PR

It seems like this board is hidden, and I think it would get more traffic if advertised. Ever since the link under "weight loss related" boards was moved down, people don't see it.

Any suggestions?  Should we each pick a forum & post about this board's existence, or do you think there would be too much spam?

I just recently posted a bump on the RNY forum... need a main forum bump and some other surgery board bumps

I just posted on the DS and Revision boards, since they tend to be my "home" boards. I agree, posting on the surgery boards and giving a bump now and then might help.

Thanks for posting this on the DS forum. I used check in here from time to time, but now that it's not as accessible from the "forums" menu, I haven't been by in a while!

Cool! Welcome back. I feel like the link got buried in the redesign.

I've seen at least one person who had a link/mention of this board in their signature. That might help and provide some visability anytime one is posting.

A little history lesson, 2 1/2 years ago, Sean from MA posted a short message on many of the forums about this board. It brought me and many others here. For the next year or so, this board was super active with many posts a day. About 1 1/2 years ago I posted a short message about this board on as many other OH boards as I could. We saw another influx. That is basically what you need to do.

An interesting thing about my posts, there were very few negative comments. When someone posted one on the other boards, it was usually criticized by the other board members and this board got support. Also about 18 months ago we asked the board be renamed to the new name to make it easier to find. It was the GLBT Board.

So, my advice is go out and post like crazy on other OH boards about this board and do your PR. It will probably yield new members. -- Tom
