Bummed Out

Well, I went to the cardiologist on Wednesday, and they did 3 tests.
(the first 2 were not pleasant)
I was home and they called to tell me something is abnormal. (of course it is)
So, now I go talk to him on Monday and will have to undergo a heart cath.
For those of you who don't know, they go in the groin artery, shoot
some dye in and that gives them a better picture. Wheeeeeeeeee!
So, as it stands right now, I may not be in good enough shape to have
my gastric bypass.
Maybe I could have the band--not my first choice, but it's probably a
lesser surgical risk.
We'll just cross that bridge when we get to it!

I'm so sorry for these complications.

I'm curious is it the procedure that makes a difference, or just the risk of anesthesia and your heart? I know that people with greater complications seem to go with a DS because they can do the sleeve portion because the procedure is quicker.

I am so sorry! BUT!!! Think positive!! It is best for the Dr's to get you healthy! Your surgery will happen sooner than you think!!!

try to stay positive. i know its easier said than done but try. i really do feel that having a positive outlook  does in fact make a difference not just on our emotional state but also on more 'real' things.
pray, if that helps you. ha, do it even if it isnt really your thing. at the very least, youll have your bases covered. ;)
if it happens that you have to get the band dont get discouraged. the band has its virtues and its possibilities. just before my surgery, i found out that my uncle had the band. he's still a big guy but has lost over 100 lbs so far!
*hugs*

It's the anesthesia, the longer you're under, the bigger the risk.
I wish, (I know, wish in one hand, **** in the other and see which fills faster) that my surgeon's staff had their act together and had told me to see a cardiologist sooner.
Oh well, can't appreciate the good without the bad, can you?
I'll wait to see what the cath shows, then the docs can put their heads together and make me all better. LOL
Hope it's fixable.
My brother had a good thought. (he's gay too, so of course he's smart!!!)
He said maybe I could have the band and when my heart's healthy enough, I could have the RNY.
He's a pretty fart smeller @ times.
I had a couple of bummed out days, but with everyone's advice, support, and love, I'm feeling good.
Que sera, sera!
Thank you all!
