I get my date tomorrow :)

I'm pretty excited. I should have my surgery date tomorrow! I got insurance approval on Tuesday after another minor battle, this time with the surgeon's office. I really need a week with this office teaching them basic organizational skills.

Tomorrow AM I have an upper G.I and then a meeting with the surgeon and should walk out with a surgery date. It may be as soon as like 10 days (after Dr. Steinberg has a vacation).

I'll keep y'all updated and thanks so much for your support. I'll need it even more AFTER surgery.

Congratulations  ... and good luck with the surgery. I had a similar experience --  waiting, preparing, fighting with the insurance company and the surgeon's staff -- then all of a sudden I had a date and about a week to go. In some ways, it was nice to have no time to worry about things. 

I remember getting the "date"!  How exciting!

That's great!  I wish you all the best.  I had my surgery on 6/8 -- I started at 383 and have now taken off 40 lbs!  It's a life changer!  Sending love and support to you.

sooo.....when is it man!?! :D

Oy vey! This whole process is like driving in traffic. You poke along at 5MPH, then suddenly it opens up and you gun it........ and then you slam on the brakes again. %E&$#!

GI went great. Met with surgeon and he was concerned that I had gained the weight lost during the 6 month diet plus a little more. So I agreed to a 2 week hardcore liquid meal replacement kind of diet. This is strictly to lower my BMI, reduce my liver size, and generally avoid any potential complications. I'm all for that.

I have a surgery "week" - the third week in August. I am supposed to have an exact date tomorrow.

 WELL????  I'm sittin on pins and needles!  LOL

I'm so pissed off at this moment. Finally got back to me with a date and its September 7th.

I was expecting to have this surgery in MAY, and I anticipated JUNE with delays. But September? I know it's only 6 weeks, but all these delays are nothing more than administrative **** ups.

I can tell you this. Dekalb Medical is no longer on my recommendation list.
