has it really been two years
I sit here at work and take it for granted that I automatically take my Calcium, drink my fluids it is so normal now. I had a RNY 06/10/2008 and my life has become very routine from that date. I began my weight loss journey at 325 pounds i have maintained my goal weight of 175 pounds for the last year. I have become a creature of habit I eat to live not for pleasure anymore. I am not what I eat anymore. Food does not control me. I am so glad that I took the step to save my life. I am 51 years old an have never been healthier. I am no longer diabetic, hypertensive, sure I still have aches and pains from the abuse my body went thru from the excess weight I carried for so long. But I am able to walk up the hills of San Francisco wothout becoming short of breath. I ride a bike for pleasure.
I went thru the cycle of buying excessive clothes but am now comfortable where I am. I wear size 32 pants down from 48 I wear size medium shirts (16" collar down from 3x and 20 inch collar) sure my partner hates my new size but I am at peace I am healthy. I am happy.
Sure I have food issues I have not had a sandwich since my surgery two clse to a cheese burger and I do still drink protein drinks twice a day and eat protein bars. I have not had any alcohol or carbonated drinks since surgery and do not miss them.
I read this forum everday after surgery and still visit once in a while. Work yuor program and it will work for you .
Peace and Joy to all. I still can ot figure out how to post a picture.
Looking forward to doing more this summer.....fun in the sun....camping, and maybe some backpacking!
