ANYONE OUT THERE WHO CAN HELP MY FRIEND??
Hello all my gorgeous people. I have an important question i need to ask for a friend- hoping SOMEONE would know about. She has finally made the appt for gastric bypass and is sooo excited to have it done HOWEVER- she has a pituitary condition that is under control and this is her worry....Can she still have the surgery and should she even bother telling the surgeon in the initial consult? Or is it something way too serious to not mention. She doesnt want anything to stall her surgery. I know you are wondering "WELL, what is the condition??" I will have to post back on that one as I'm sure that makes a big difference, lol. But, if anyone, for now, has a little idea or has pituitary issues please get back to me. Thank you very much!!! And as always XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
Jill,
She should absolutely tell her surgeon about this tumor. He/she needs to know about everything in her body. Have her look at it this way... would she rather her surgery be delayed so the doctor can be fully prepared or would she rather something go drastically wrong with her surgery or the tumor post-op? I get that she's anxious about having the surgery. But the doctors need to know what's going on in her body - everything in her body. A tumor on her pituitary gland is major.

Yes, yes, and yes!!!
she should tell the wls surgeon about everything!!!! Even ingrown toenails! Kidding!
She's only hurting herself if she doesn't.
The pituitary problem will make a BIG difference either way, and if she doesn't tell them, it may hurt her after wls.
I look at it this way, she's waited this long for wls, and a few more months getting healthy won't hurt, and she'll feel better too.
