Hi All,

Well I've been off here for a long long time.  I've been battling problem after problem after problem since surgery.  It's gotten to the point that any fluid inserted into the band has to be removed within about 48 hours otherwise I can't keep anything down including water.  Now I'm having more problems with no fluid.  Out of no where I can suddenly have to go remove what I just ate.  And it's nothing simple to solve.  It's not just one thing.  It can be anything from a small piece of banana that I just ate or a drink of water.  I'm making sure that I don't over eat, chew enough.  I've gone in for testing and they can't figure out what's wrong.  I'm to the point that I just want to walk in and say OK enough is enough - schedule me to get this &*%^($# thing out.  I'm tired of suddenly having to run to the bathroom so I can get it out of me.  I wish I could pin it down to a time or something that I'm doing but I can't.  It can range from my morning meal to a midnight orange for a snack.  Nothing I am doing fixes it.  No meds from the doc solves it.  There only thought is go to a gastro doc to have him/her look into it.  Which I don't know what it will solve.  I only got this problem since the surgery.  I just want it out NOW!!!

Any suggestions or thoughts??

I am sorry the band is giving you problems.  I think at this point I would stick to liquids for at least 72 hours.  (any time after tossing food)  You possibly can be too swollen at this point.  after the 72 hours switch to super soft liquidity food for 24 then add soft food then lead up to regular.  75% protein the rest veggies.

I was lucky as my Dr gave me fills every 6 weeks with just a little at a time.  Some Dr's fill too aggressive.

From reading the lap band boards some people needed a larger size band.  I don't have the band you have I have an allergen so I hope any info I give or suggest helps you.

oh yeah!   For me warm liquids are best if I do cold my band tightens.

Good luck to you! ~Ann

I had that issue too and finally had the band deflated and had a conversion to gastric bypass. My surgeon at Mass. General Hospital has done many many conversions from bands to RNY.
During the band removal she found I had erosion on my liver from the band. Common when the band does not work "right"
Very glad I switched to bypass. Good luck and sorry this is so difficult.
