I have found mecca!
Finally, my people! I have been searching for a LGBT WLS group and behold, here you are!!
I'm new to the OH world. I am trying to establish a group of people that I feel can share in similarities of my life. I am going through the process to have RNY surgery. I am very excited about the new life that stands before for me.
I hope to meet many of you at various stages of this journey!

Welcome - I just hopped in to this forum today also, but I have been on OH for several months now. I had my RNY in March and am doing well. I see that there isn't a lot of posting going on here - too bad, huh? Good luck with your progression to surgery. You will find a lot of support and answers here,
Hi Kathy! Thanks for the warm welcome! I guess this isn't the 'happening' forum. I have met one other gal that shares similar interests. She doesn't see a lot of LGBT members on here either. Maybe we are looking in the worng places or maybe we need to start our own group!
I'm glad to hear that you have started you new journey. I want to hear all about it if you are willing to share! By now you should be easing into soft foods...how is that going for you? Any regrets?
Give me the scoop, Sister!!
No regrets and no problems so far. I am actually almost done with my soft foods and ready to move on to regular food. I have had no issues with anything I have tried to eat so far (although I have been following the rules pretty close). My recovery was uneventful. I can go out to a restaurant again now, which is nice, although I just take a few bites of whatever my partner orders. Life is good so far....
Hi Ladies!
Congrats on starting your journey. It's a fantastic journey. I've made some really great friends on this board - both locally and across the country. Yes a lot of us are on Facebook. But we all usually check in here periodically.
If you're on FB, feel free to add me... www.facebook.com/musicmaryn
i'll intro you to lots of my WLS LGBT peeps. There are a lot of us out here.

Hi!
I think it comes in waves, newbies come in ask questions then go off, then come back, then go off ya know round and round- but the regulars check in periodically.
Good luck on you're upcoming RNY!

Dear Ohanagirl,
Your post was a while ago and I was wondering where you are on your journey.
I'm new to the boards (couple months) and I am half way through a 6 month diet/exercise program required by my insurance. I probably won't have the RNY until at least May...
Hope things are going well for you!
