I went swimming this weekend.   ME.  I did.  With my fat hanging around my trunks and my furry man boobs out on full display,  I went swimming and I swam hard to get some exercise,  I swam slow and easy just to feel myself move through the water like I hadn't done in so long.  If there was laughing or pointing or eye rolling, I didn't see it because I was just enjoying being there and proud that I just pushed myself to embrace an old love of mine.   I took the kids with me as well and they were so glad to have daddy back in the pool.  I could write about this for days but I will spare you all the torture.

Special thanks to Judex for encouraging me to get out there and start rediscovering the parts of life that I've allowed to fall away due to the obesity.

I may not be able to afford surgery but, I'm going to start reclaiming my life one piece at a time 'til I have it all back.

I went swimming....I went swimming...I went swimming...I went swimming

That is freaking awesome.  I, myself have hid away from life for such a long time.  And biting that bullet and not caring what anyone else thinks is a HUGE step to self-acceptance and then bam you are on your way to being the person you want to be......the one that's been hiding in there all this time :)  good for you!!!!  *HUGE BEAR HUGS*

What a great thing!  Last fall I took adult swim lessons. I never learned how to swim. I was embarrassed to go to the pool. I tossed that aside and loved the lessons. I can now swim very poorly, but it is swimming. Good for you for the courageous step forward. It only takes one step to begin a journey. -- Tom
