it's been a while since I posted about my weight loss journey. It really has been an interesting one. I'm approaching my 2 year surgiversary in May and I must say I'm quite pleased with the way things turned out aside from not having plastics yet. let's recap shall we?

beginning weight: 500+ pounds
Weight at time of surgery: 432 pounds
Weight at time of going home from surgery: 448
Lowest weight achieved: 234 pounds
current weight: 254 pounds

Yup...i gained 20 pounds.....however my surgeon says that is normal in the second year. almost everyone gains in the second year because the body has normalized. now.....I did all this WITHOUT exercise! My poor knees need replacing but the doctors won't do it because I'm too young (hell, I'll be 40 next year!)

Even still with the weight gain, I can do so many things now that i couldn't before. i'm around the weight i was when i was 13 years old. the quality of my life seems to be better but i'm still seeing nothing but a fat blob when i look in the mirror.......oh well....it's something i accept because I know I'll live for a very long time now and who cares what I look like. I just keep dreaming of having plastic surgery and losing another 20 pounds. Once i get in the full swing of biking and stuff, I will lose more which makes me optimistic.

But there ya have it. no one's perfect but I'm at least happy with myself. :)

Aaron, You truly did a fantastic job! You look great and have such a good attitude about life. Brett and I are fortunate to have met you. Your journey has truly inspired many people. You were so active on this board, sorta the Godfather, during my first year post-op. I always looked forward to your posts and hearing about your life. Two years have gone fast and the little gain you had in so minimal. -- Tom
