So glad I found this forum!
I had my surgery on Monday and I have been searching around this site for anything LGBT...yahh..finally..lol! I'm from Georgia..anyone else? So far so good as far as the surgery..down 10 pounds...pain is not too bad. This is my first 24 hours without pain meds. The only thing that is bothering me now is the fact I haven't gone number 2..lol. Had to say it! If any of you have any suggestions...it would be greatly appreciated!

What did your doc recommend for post surgical constipation? You should give them a call to see what they suggest as this is a WAY common effect after surgery. My experience with this site is learning how differently some docs proceed according to their own protocols. For now I would remind you to walk walk walk and sip sip sip... it isn't only good to move that gas in your thorax but also the muscles in your abdomen and colon. Gotta get things moving again! The more you move your body the more your body's systems will move again as well. Hang in there and congratulations on your surgery!!

ewww! Constipation is the worst! I took something natural with stool softeners...but am 'blocking' on the name...
Surgery (anthesia) and pain meds cause it...had some great pain pills when I had PS...soon found out that constipation was a side effect and more painful than the surgery! So I am not real big on pain meds.
Best to you on getting and staying regular...

I actually...and Finally went yesterday..yahhhh! lol I am taking a stool softener everyday just to stay on track. I have gotten off pain pills although the pain of the gas sometimes is pretty bad and my stomach..right in the middle of my chest has this wierd uncomfortable feeling. Day by day...it gets better!

Welcome to our little rainbow wls family. This is a great forum. I've made some really great friends here. Glad ur poopin'...lol. I hope you don't get to the point where I sometimes am... I back the toilet up sometimes. Us RNY'ers don't go #2 daily. So when we do it can be... well... a flush buster! hahahaha! Mine got so bad a one point that I called my landlord cuz the toilet wasn't working. They bought a new toilet and then a week or so later, the new toilet had issues. Then I realized that it wasn't the toilet or the plumbing that was having issues... it was my ass! hahahahaha! Ya... I didn't share that revelation with my landlord!

I haven't had any problems like that..but..I'm hardly eating anything right now...just my second week..but I think Im gonna take fiber con daily..lol!
