My goodness....where did the time go? It doesn't seem like that long ago I was whining about my insurance denial (they changed their mind)....and now I am two years out! OMG!

I have to say I love my WSL/RNY....my life is good, very different. I can do so much more stuff. That is the good news. The bad news is I still need to get back on track with exercising and maybe eating is going to always be a challenge? The stress carb monster still shows it's head and carb go down so much easier than vegies and protein.

Overall....I have nothing to complain about....I just need to stay on track....loving life in general...hoping all your weight loss journeys are going well....

Good on ya love! 2 years must seem like such an accomplishment and sure as heck inspires me. Any advice for us newbies?

Just keep on keeping on. Do what you know you need to do to stay on the path to health. There are times I totally forget I used to be overweight! I think I can eat all the sweets I want....just feel like a regular skinny girl, you know? I have a friend who had RNY and gained back most of her weight and she just eats whatever she wants. I don't want to be like that.

For RNYers and DSers you need to keep up the vitamins too...

I hope to go to my local support group tomorrow...to remind myself where I come from. Besides the weight loss so much is in our heads....and is emotional too. Try to stay as level as you can. The weight will come off if you are using your tool....

Jill, I am dating a Canandian now....

Deb that's awesome. I remember you from the beginning. I had 2 years in March. It is totally amazing how time flies. And how much happier we are.

The "much happier" is interesting isn't it? I look at some of my old photos, and I just don't look happy in them. I hope to continue on a keep doing well. You are just a few weeks in front of me....what are your ideas for what helps people be successful?

Sometimes I don't even realize how much happier  am. I had a friend tell me the other day, that as I was walking out the door, I turned around and I never looked happier or more beautiful in all the time he's known me.. That was pretty special.

Succes.. So here is what has worked for me.

1)  95% of successful WLS patients go to support groups.

2)   For me, I can never eat white rice, white sugar, or white flour again. They are triggers and basically made by the devil. :0) Just kidding. But if I put those in my body it triggers grazing.

Other than that my new addiction to the gym realy helps too.

First off congrats! I'm oh so happy to hear that you're still doing marvelously!!!

Secondly, what do you do to keep yourself away from the carbs. I have to fight so hard at night not to give in to that evil monster- got any tips?

Don't have carbs around....if you do slip up, move on...don't get in to the cycle (he loves me, he doesn't love me emotional food eating cycle). I totally agree that the working out helps, emotionally and physically. And with carbs/sweets anything...it is the first few bites that taste the best...so if you have savored one or two bites, STOP!! You have already had the best part...
