Surgery Tomorrow

Well i;m sitting in my hotel room right now. I have alot of my mind, Tomorrow at 730 am i will be in surgery for my byass surgery, I want to think positive but i;m scared. I've never been under general anesthics before and it scares me. I'm so excited for my futurre beacuse my date is finally here. But i'm afraid of so much. Mostly the unknown. Did anyone feel like this?

It was very scary right before and for a few weeks afterwards.  I worried lots about complications.

I was terrified.

I will tell you that it was a piece of cake for me and that all my fears were for nothing.  There was not much pain and I was up and walking the next day. The anesthesia was no big deal.

It has been one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

 It's normal to feel anxious.
I had smooth sailing, easy recovery .
You will go to sleep and wake up with no sense of time passing.

I was in the same boat as you and was scared half to death. I am a nurse and we do not like being on the other side of the IV pole!! My ex wife took good care of me in the pre op room and told on me for being so anxious to the OR crew who then took really great care of me. Ask one of the OR nurses to come hold your hand when they put the O2 mask on you. Mine did that for me and I fell asleep that way. Are you bring ing anyone with you to wait with you? WE will be thinking of you here. Bring your chap stick for those dry lips! Let us know how you are when you have the time.

Girl, I work for an anesthesia office and that was the part I was most affraid of!!!! I was CRAZY because that was the best part! Congrats on your surgery today! Good wishes to you!
