I made it home from the hospital
Yes I finally had my surgery and have already made it home. The 32 inches of snow could not stop me from getting to the hospital and then getting home today. I laid in the bed yesterday and watched as the snow fell. What an experience. The surgery alone was frightening enough but add that to a hospital with limited staff and Doctors being snowed out of making rounds. I'm just glad it's over.
Thanks for all of the pointers. I had my chapstick and spent a lot of time walking and sipping water. Who knew it would be so hard to sip that much water? I am looking to my follow up on Monday to see how much weight I have lost in the first week. I did have moments in the admitting process of "nows the time to run out the door". I figured it was too late when they said they were getting ready to administer the fluid in my IV to knock me out. I woke up to a woman ripping my pads off my hairy chest and other ladies giggling about my rather gay and suggestive tattoos on my ass. If only the hot male nurses had made it out in the snow. Leave it to the queens to stay at home by the fire!
