Left incisional pain- how long does it last?

How long does this incisional pain last on the left side of your stomach.  I can feel it healing because I can feel a small bumb underneath the skin.  Anyone else experience this?
Thanks in advance

did they stitch you closed or did they use super glue?  I was put together with super glue and some internal stitches......what you could be feeling (the bump) is an internal stitch poking out which will go away over time.  I never really had pain to accommodate it though.

It's totally normal, a wise and lovely lesbian on this board told me that is where they did all the work and put the big tools through so it's going to take longer to heal.

I stopped feeling it at like 3 months out, though sometimes I still do if I lay on that side for too long

hey... didn't i tell you that?

Danni is correct.  The largest scar/incision is where your surgeon did most of the work.  Most of the tools they used were inserted there.  So the muscles and tissue in that area were disrupted the most.  So the healing in that area takes longer.  I personally felt a little discomfort in my big scar for about 2 months.  It's totally normal.

Thanks Danni.  I can't wait to see what 3 months out brings me.
P.S.  Congrats on 140 lbs lost.  Keep it going girl!

No prob, it's just one of those lil' bumps that pass on the way to amazing weight loss.
and Thanks for the nod-  I'm in a stall right now and it's verrrrry maddening, but we gotta focus on how far we've come not how much left to go. I was at a BMI of almost 60 and now I'm at 38!

It really bothered me up to about a year out.  Now, I only get occasional twinges.  And, surprisingly, the scars are barely visible now.

It took about a month or so for it to really stop bothering me
