Everything went well.... 9 days out.
Just dropping a line to let some of my 'OH' friends know that the surgery went well.... slowly on my recovery. I hope this eating and going to the bathroom stops every 2 hours. It's exhausting and dehydrating. WATER WATER WATER! Any ideas when your bowels go back to regular? I know they may never be the same again especially with certain foods but I am on stage 2 diet and am still very frequent.

I'm so glad to hear from you! I was wondering what happened. CONGRATS!!!! Take care of yourself and any questions I'll try to help but I dont think my experience is typical (it figures). I pooped the first day I came home and pretty much go about once a day now. I take a stool softner every night just incase. I hear you can get pretty "stopped up". As for your eating, what are you feeling? I can eat and tolerate pretty much EVERYTHING!!! It ****** me off. Gastric Bypass cant even keep me down, lol. But I'm losing and doing pretty good I guess- slow and steady. Keep in touch. Jill
Glad to hear you're still doing well - I think it takes till you are doing solid food to go back to normal- though some never do. It seems like most people have a prob with not being able to go- so count your blessings!

Hey Tina!
Glad to hear your sugery went well. I'm 5 months out from my RNY. Poops are never the same. Pre-op: I used to poop twice a day... I was Miss Regular. Now, I'm lucky to poop twice a week and well... let's just say it takes some time to come out and does require a courtesy flush or else it stops up the plumbing. I had so many probs with that I complained to my landlord who bought & installed a new toilet. Then a few days later it happened again. Oh... I guess it wasn't a broken toilet... it was my butt! hahahahaha! Ya... not telling my landlord about that!
Keep drinking the water. Water and peeing is your best friend... it's how we release the weight. You'll settle down in a few more weeks once you're on solid foods. Just take it easy and follow your doctor's plan to the T. Every doctor has slightly different plans and certainly different plans for each type of WLS.
Lean on us, we've all been there! You're doing great. Keep it up.

Good to hear from you! Glad everything went well. As for the bowels, I think everyone is different. It took me a couple of weeks to get more solid, but then I had the opposite problem for a good month. I started using benefibre to counteract that. After 1.5 months all was normal again. I hope things start to slow down for you soon. Now that you are on solid foods that might help. Good luck and see you at the support group meeting next week if you are up to it.
