Welcome!

While you're pre-op, take the time to check out all four major WLSs here.  The VSG and DS are both also great options, although the VSG is still experimental with no long term data. The DS statistically has the best rate of EWL both initially and long term (studies are 15 years out now and showing 80-93% of patients have maintained their EWL), and it has a 98% CURE rate of Type II diabetes if that's an issue. Plus it allows the most regular eating habits because you have a normal although smaller stomach, and the malabsorption lets you eat all foods with no dumping, sticking, etc. You can check out the DS at www.dsfacts.com and www.duodenalswitch.com, and at the DS forum here.

Best wishes to you and Marc on your journey!!!

Laura
