I finally have a date

 After many months of tests, weight loss and general angst about the whole process and jumping thru hoops for my insurance company I FINALLY HAVE A DATE. I found out Friday that I had been approved and was contacted this morning about setting my date. I have a consultation on Tuesday about the procedure and I have the bypass on Feb 9. WOW. it's almost here. I am so excited. I made it! Now all I have to do is prepare for the 9th and then I can join all of you who have already begun the new thinner life. To anyone who is just starting the process or half way thru- Hang in there the time will pass and it will all be worth it.
Anything I should know or do to prepare for surgery? Anything would be helpful.

You must be thrilled and scared to death all at the same time. I remember being equal parts both when my date was drawing near. Make sure to bring chap stick... those lips are going to get DRY post op before you can start getting liquids in. Be faithful to your pre-op diet. was SO freaked about getting my liver to be LITTLE so they wouldn't have to open me up that I lost 17 pounds on that 10 day liquid diet  LOL. Incredible motivation man! Do you have someone coming with you to help you through the anxious pre-op phase? Promise to keep us in the loop about how you did/are doing as soon as you are able. We are all waiting for you here on the Loser's Bench bud!!
