Looking for friends!

My name is Altheia I am having surgery in early March (no exact date yet). I am a retired nurse. Looking for friends to share the good, bad and wacky times with. I basically going through this without a lot of support, it's a long story.

Hi Altheia!  Welcome to our forum.  This is a great place to get questions answered, meet folks going through the same journey at different stages, and just vent when you need to.  I know there are folks on this board from MA.  I'm from CA.  I'd also recommend finding a local WLS support group.  I love my local group.

Congrats on your decision to take this journey.  You're not alone.

 Hi Altheia..I am a retired nurse too and I live in Dorchester and had my surgery in early June at MGH. While it was anxiety provoking pre-surgery it  all went very smoothly as did the recovery.
I am so glad I did it. 94 lbs lost since June 2.
So glad you showed up on this forum...

Hiya! i go for surgery next week and also dont have much support in real life. my bff who had her surgery in september only lives about 1100 miles away. lol guess what? im her only real life support too. lol we both rely on this site and others like it and find it to be a good substitute for what we lack. welcome to the club. *hugs*
