My Inspiration Jeans - Dreams Really Do Come True!
Dear friends,
I'm very new to the boards and just discovered this forum a few days ago. I'm 11 months post-op with 91 lbs. in weight loss to date. For years I've dreamed of wearing a really sexy pair of jeans and this past June I bought a pair in a size 10. I named them "my inspiration jeans" and tucked them away with hopes that perhaps next summer I could wear them.
Yesterday, while thinking about what I was going to wear to a Christmas family event today, I decided to try on a few things that I'd stored away in my closet. I found the size 10 jeans and decided to go out on a limb and humour myself by trying to put them on. To my amazement they fit me perfectly.
I used to be a size 22 and I just stood at my bathroom mirror in disbelief. I honestly had to do a double-take - I just couldn't believe it was really me. It's been over 25 years since I've worn a size 10. I had to tell myself several times that it wasn't a dream. It was really true!
Well, today I wore my inspiration jeans and I felt so good, so confident, so awesome, both physically and emotionally. It was truly a day like no other and I am so excited about reaching my weight loss goal (about another 30 lbs. to go).
We are all on the same journey and sometimes it's really tough and we get discouraged. I just want to encourage you to believe in yourself. To hang in there no matter what, and to go buy a pair of "inspiration jeans" because dreams really do come true!
Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!
Happy Holidays to all of you!

Thank you for sharing your story, I think it is something we can all relate to in one way or another.
I am 65lbs down and bought a sweater at J Crew (a splurge for myself for Christmas) and I knew I needed the XL. The store sold out of it (and I had to have this sweater) so I tried on the Large and it fit !!!! I'm wearing it now, loving every single minute I am in it.
My inspiration sweater is now a trophy sweater because I have reached a personal goal as well.
CONGRATULATIONS BABE!!!! Rock those jeans every time you put them on!!!!
WOW!! I'm so happy for you. I have been thinking about getting myself an outfit to get into. But I guess I'm afraid to. I'm afraid of not getting down to the size I really want to be in.....but, I do have a pair of jeans that I wore when I got pregnant with my daughter. I was 18 when I last wore these jeans, I am now 42. I have always held on to these jeans. I'm not sure why I could never threw them out. Maybe cause the day will come that I will wear them again. My daughter is 23 years old now, and I think maybe I should focus on getting back into those jeans.....They are a size 14. At the time of surgery I wore a 24/26. I'm now into a 18/20, and it will only be 4 months on Jan. 1st........As of today I am down 90 pounds, and I totally can relate to taking a double take in the mirror. I have had those moments a few times already.
Congrats to you....You an inspiration!

Thank you for your encouraging post. I just turned 49 and I haven't worn anything below a size 18 in over 25 years. My boys are 20 and 16 and they can't believe the difference in me. They've never really seen me thin before.
I'm so happy for you, too! 90lbs in four months is incredible. You go girl! Get those jeans out, freshly laundered and all ready for a great night out, and soon. You are doing fantastic and it won't be long at all until you can slip back into them without a problem.
Wishing you all the very best. Nice meeting you.

Thank you so much! You are such a sweetheart!
You know, the reactions from my kids are the *******so have 2 boys ages 16 and 19. My 16 year old is always telling me I'm getting skinny. It's funny cause I'm still over 200 pounds, but to him, I am getting skinnier!
This has been the greatest gift I could have given myself and my kiddos. I'm healthier, happier, and I feel fantastic!
Good luck to you.....Life is beautiful!
