I am having trouble tolerating protein shakes (nauseating, I am about 10 weeks post-surg).

Any recommendations on tasty protein bars? Do you have a sure fire fave?

THANKS!!!!

What about isopure? GNC and RiteAid have it. They are like a juice drink. One drink is 15g protein.

Thats a link to Amazon but it shows a picture of the ones I saw. I saw them in RiteAid for $10.00 and they were a 6 pack.

Do you ever visit Melting Mama's website? She is on Obesityhelp, facebook, and she has her own site? She does great reviews of different products. I'm sure if you visited her site you'd find awesome reviews on proteins.

Another lady, Shelly, has a site called The World According To Eggface ...she has GREAT bariatric friendly recipes and protein shake recipes.

thanks so much for the links!
i have some homework to do now that i am trying to find my post-surg groove.
the nausea (for over 2 months now) has been a kind of gift ... i am kinda "off" food,
the downside is i need to somehow get in 70g of protein a day, which i almost never reach.
again MANY thanks!

I am a big isopure chocolate powder fan.  at www.vitalady.com they sell samples.   I recommend  that you do not buy in big quantity till you find what you like as I really had a lot of wasted stuff and money.  Good luck to you and try carnation instant breakfast if you can't tolerate anything else.  and remember sipping water is important as well!

hey there!

I had issues with shakes, but I did find one that I can tolerate, and still love to this day!  (7 months out of surgery and 65lbs less)  I get them from a website called Bariatric Choice.

try ordering one and see what you think?  no mix, just keep it cold in the fridge, it has a chocolate milk texture to it.

I love all the products I've bought from this site, check out their selection of bars too! http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-diet-protein-bars-15.html

Good luck with it!
