Holiday Plans

Since I know a lot of us have had to "make" our families, I'm curious....what are you doing for the holidays?

We drive 4 hours north to see my Mom. Usually we would of seen my Grandpa too but this will be the first Christmas without him

And tonight my friend is having an ugly christmas sweater party so that is where I'll be! 

I love ugly Christmas sweater parties! We don't have any this year, but I'm going to rock mine anyways!

Do you know the site "Stuff White People Like"? Those are on the list- LOL!

The first year is the hardest. It does get easier. The pain isn't as raw. *big hugs*

I love the idea of an ugly Xmas sweater party!  We are visitng my partner's family and then spending the rest of the holiday week (both on plant shutdowns) cleaning and organizing the house!

Us too! We need to do serious housekeeping!

 Christmas morning at home prepping for christmas afternoon of friends dropping by..food, old friends, whats better than that?
..and yes I am eating it..until the dump comes and it will..
 Tomorrow I go down to the Cape (cape Cod) to see family..

I haven't posted in a long time.  I am so caught up with games on FaceBook, I never make it to OH.  So I'll post now. :)

This will be our first year to not spend part of the holiday with my family.  I gave them their gifts in October because I was afraid we might not be able to make it.  We can't make it due to my partner's schedule and I can't go alone because I can't drive.  I had surgery on my toes, so I'm stuck at home.  I will get to spend Christmas with my partner and his 3 children at our home.  I'm sure it will be lots of fun.  We'll be trying something new for us.  We'll be eating lefse.  It is a Norwegian flat bread.  I was adopted as a baby and have been in contact with my biological family.  I'm 3/4 Norwegian and my family makes and eats lefse every year.  They have sent me some so that I can share in the tradition.  I'm very excited about starting this tradition.  Some people eat lefse with a little butter and cinnamon-sugar.  My family eats it with mayo, turkey, dressing and cranberry sauce.  You can google lefse to see what it's made of.

I'm working all through out the holidays but thats okay, I love my job!

ohh I'll look up the bread.  I think I should make something specifically Danish that is holiday food and try that out :D 

I used to have to travel a lot but this year my kids and I live with my mom and my family is all here so I guess that part is ok...  however now I have ot do ALL of the cooking and cleaning and setting up, etc.  I mostly dont mind. :)

My ex still spends holidays with us and you'd think it would be awkward but it's really not it's good.  We have 2 kids together so it makes the kids super happy of course.
