Cruising along at 18 months
Hi GLBT Weight Loss Pals,
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. I’ve had a whirlwind fall with my marriage, reception and Caribbean cruise. It’s good to be past it all. They were all challenges when losing weight. I’ve become pretty good at managing my weight and appetite. I think I came through it pretty well, only gaining 3 pounds.
My cruise was truly a time when I came to understand how my weight loss transformed my life. Rather than being that sedentary person, I sought our more adventurous things. I had taken adult swim lesions in the fall and was ready to do some snorkeling. I have to admit I have been embarrassed all these years about being overweight and not knowing how to swim. Although, I could not snorkel the day I wanted, I got to swim in the ocean. It was too cool for me. Since I dropped under the 250 pound limit, I also got to zip line across the jungle 180 feet in the air. It was so exhilarating and fun. On another excursion, I inner tubed down a jungle river through caves. It was also exciting. I also signed up and took spinning classes while on-board. It was a very active week for me.
I wanted to post this for new comers to read. I went into surgery and spent probably my first year post-op worrying about the weight. I could not see that there were more dramatic changes occurring. I am happy with my current weight but would love to lose another 10-15 pounds. I plan on tackling it after the holidays. I am so much more active and energetic now. I have a love for bicycling and being active. I never dreamed I would say that several years ago. My doctor, surgeon and cardiologist all say they are amazed how healthy I have become. Life is good!!
Take care and happy holidays to all. Be sure to check out my latest photos from the cruise.

I seldom chat with Sean. He is one of my FaceBook pals but seldom posts or checks in. I maybe see him once a month on www.bear411.com. I think he is pretty busy in his work. I seem to recall he is doing OK. Have a wonderful holiday season. -- Tom
