Tell us three things you're grateful for as we near turkey day!!
Someone suggested we do another round of telling the gang what we are grateful for so I will jump in first!
1) I am grateful for my incredible friends and their love and support, whether I am strong or down, fat or thin! If a measure of a person is the friends they keep, then I am truly doing well.
2) I cannot believe the day I found this board and felt like coming home to a great group of people. There are lots of challenges in this world, as a woman, gay and God forbid FAT!! I have to say a really ugly thing broke out on the lap band board last evening and I was pretty yucked at the tone some people took with one another. I count on this board to be a haven from venom for a while and am really grateful for this space and the generosity of all of you with me and each other.
3) I am grateful for my children, both of whom face their own challenges ( especially my guy with Aspergers). It is very cool to have little beings who think you are the bomb! They call me "mum bum" and seem to get a kick out of my silly self alot of the time. I hope to have a partner in the future with whom I can practice that kind of fun, light and boundless love. Kids really can teach you the meaning of life ( sometimes a little too much like Monty Python for my taste!!)
Okay gang. I went first. Anyone else want to tell the crew what you are grateful for?? Come on now. Don't be shy!! I really hope we get to hear from those of you have have joined us here but have not chatted with us before. It would be nice to say hello to you as well!

Okay, since I brought it up.
1) I am thankful for this board and OH. It has been a wonderful resource, support and entertainment over the last 1+ year.
2) I am immensely thankful for my easy weight loss. I am so scared now by my sugar cravings, hunger and ability to eat more. Staying focused is really hard.
3) I am thankful for my supportive partner, comfortable life and stable job . . . and oh yeah our cute dog!
Big stuff to start out . . .

I am thankful for the people in my life that have been there before and are still there supporting me. My partner for her patience with me & my struggles. My son, dghtr in-law & grandchildren.
I am thankful for OH, my Dr. and all the medical people that make it possible for all of us to reach out for their help, advice, support and to listen to me vent/cry/worry when needed.
I am thankful to have the chance to change my life and become a better/healthier person.
I am especially thankful for all the little blessings that come my way when I least expect it.
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving ~hugs~

Great post Jill...*hugs*
1) I'm so grateful for my friends and family for supporting me through my wls and everything else in my life. I'm not sure I could have made it through a lot of my life's struggles without them. My OH family has been right by my side and I love you all so much.
2) Even though I lost my job a month ago, I'm grateful for all the help I have been given, and the support to get through the Holidays. I'm doing ok and for that I am so thankful. My kids have been so understanding and so supportive....I love them so much!
3) I'm so grateful to Dr. Dan, my surgeon. How do you thank a man who just saved your life? I love my RNY and I'm thankful everyday to the man who gave me back my life. Not only for me, but for my kids who love and need me so much! I am truly blessed!
And, I can't forget my furbabies...Jo Jo, Jasmine, Destiny, and Angel...they fill my life with so much joy.

(I'm still thankful for my family, my friends, and this awesome board, but the below 3 are things that just happened this week)
Getting on a plane in Charlotte North Carolina and flying non stop to California without thinking twice about it. (I got in, sat down, crossed my legs, and tightened the belt)
Putting on a pair of pants and thinking "Who shrunk my pants" only to realize they weren't mine... and they were also 4 sizes smaller than what I normally wear" Started this journey at a 60 waist... now I'm a 38.
Passing all 4 of my insurance tests (including the weight test)
1) I'm incredibly thankful that I have a family who loves and supports me (both IRL and OH!)
2) I flew on an airplane and I fit in the seat (it was tight but I did it!!)
3) My new work position is going well (I actually like the kids here a whole lot more!)
