A mile
Today many things happened for me....small steps I guess but some of these accomplishments at the beginning are really huge when you really think about it. I wanted to share with you all.
1. Before surgery I could hardly walk around the block with my dog. Poor thing had to wait for me to catch up; Today I went to the gym (3rd day in a row) and walked a mile in the pool using hand weights. That is 72 laps of a pool,,,and it took me just about an hour. I would have never thought this could happen even 7 weeks ago when I had surgery.
2. I am down to 300 pounds today ( 46 pounds lost in 7 weeks) I just can't wait to see the 200's it's been awhile.
3. I made it through my first birthday party. Small dinner of grilled chicken and beans and one bite of cake...boy did that taste good. It is hard to watch people eating huge pieces with ice-cream but I did it. The one bite though not probably the recommended choice was a good one for me, I didn't feel deprived AND luckily I didn't get sick. What was so crazy is that my mother spent the rest of the evening telling me about how little I ate and how worried she was about me. She thinks I am losing weight too quickly, and It can't possibly be healthy to eat that little.
There have been some pretty crappy days over the last month....I am glad to celebrate this good one.

Yeah Debbie! You are a loser and keep it up! Don't let friends or family discourage you but would urge you to avoid sugar and carbs as much as possible....it slows down the weight loss process ...and can impact your WLS (if you had RNY or DS- a restrictive procedure).
Keep up the good work focus on losing and working out and getting healthier...don't worry about what others eat...and you will stay on track...Best of luck to you!!

You are doing great Debbie... Your mom will always worry about you. That's what moms do. I get the same from people too. I guess it's because they seen me before surgery eating larger amounts of food, and now I eat 6 meals a day that may only equal up to one meal that I used to eat before surgery. You know what is best for you, and you are doing great.....good for you. And, Happy Belated Birthday! Mine was the 13th of October!.... I skipped the cake this year...and to my surprise, I didn't miss it!
