Funny How Things Happen
Awww thanks everyone :) We haven't set a date in stone yet, but we have talked about May 1st. She lives in Nashville so I'm moving up there. I used to live there and it's home. All of my good friends are still there and it's closer to my family. Gotta get through all that first, but I'm already trying to get some ideas together.
So far we've decided to have a nite time candlelit wedding. A friend of hers has a house with a big back yard so we're hoping to maybe use that as a venue. Anybody has any wedding planning advice?
My advice for what it is worth:
1.Expect to spend way more than you first think you are going to.
2. Do your own invitations on the computer it is fun easy and lots cheeper.
3. Don't skimp on photography it will be your greatest treasure in years to come. ( I did and it was my greatest regret)
4. Don't smash cake in each others faces........ok well maybe :)
5. Have fun planning the event.
Good luck with the move,,,,,,will you have to find a new job or can you relocate?
- Ask yourselves at each major decision " Is this an expression & celebration of "US" as a couple or just what I think I am supposed to do at a thing called a wedding?"
- Don't be surprized to find that you have some "underlying princess, white wedding ideas" that you didn't expect - Throw out some of your daily ideas about what is "butch or femme" and really get in touch with what your inner little qirls want for their true love celebration of a wedding....
Hope that makes sense to you. I have had the honor and privilage of being the wedding planner and decorator for many gay weddings over the years and find these to be ideas that people say "I wish someone had told me...."
Congratulations on finding your life partner, your pictures look amazing!
