OK.. so my personal Trainer has me doing 1/2 cup ( 4 oz) of food every 4 hours.. and in between protien shakes.. well this does fall in line with my bypass diet.. the problem IS.. when i finish my 4 oz.. my tummy feels fine.. but my head keeps Screaming MORE MORE MORE..
now again.. i've had to stop and try and FEEL if i'm hungry still.. and although my tummy seems o****ep feeling like 4 oz just is not enough..
today for instance.. i had a 4 oz fajita
i finished it and felt Fine.. even a tad bit full.. but my mind keeps goading me to eat more.. and i'm fighting it.. but i seem to be fighting a loosing battle..

I am sure others have / or Are going through this too.. what do YALL do to curb this mental mind ****
I need help please..
thanks
D

The only advice I can give you in that situation....is get up after you're done and do something.  keep your brain occupied with something other than your next meal.  Obviously you're getting in enough protein and protein shakes or bars have enough calories in them to keep you going.  Food is just fluff (for lack of a better word).  i know it's hard when you're by yourself but you need to do something to get your mind off it.

thank you but I'm not as hot as yourself :)  it seems that you're going in the right direction with keeping yourself busy.  try this, when your head seems to feel hungry.....drink water or something non-caloric.......keeping yourself full will keep the head at bay too.

Heres my advice.  Eat slowly.  Set your fork down between bites.  I get this issue too, my mind screams more when my body is already full!  Make that four ounces last for twenty minutes so you get mouth satisfaction.  It really does help!

Oh my Goodnessss, Fuzzy, I'm only a month out and I have BEEN feeling like that since surgery!!!!!   I am sooo scared that it didnt work for me, I could cry!!!!  But, I keep losing.  However, if this continues, I wont be losing for long and that freaks me out   I have lost 25-30 pounds in a month!  Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with that, but I want to respect my pouch and be aware of what I can do to it.  Isn't there ANYTHING salty I can keep near by to "munch" on when I feel like munching??  something healthyand ok?

Hi Jill,
according to my Surgeon.. i should not be munching.. that is not to say that i Dont!!!!
but your only a Month out.. you are having "Head Hunger" more severly than i am.. i've just now started to face this.. but i believe i had it just after my surgery..
Do yourself a couple of Huge Favors,
A. MEASURE MEASURE MEASRUE..
I cant tell you how sorry i am for not following that rule.. i believe this is the cause of me gaining weight again..
Situation:
I got sooo frustrated with the amount of food that i was able to eat (or in our case NOT EAT)
so i tended to not measure.. and over the last year.. i've stretched my pouch.. Please if you dont hear anything else i say.. MEASURE!!! it will prevent soo much heartache for you later..

B. IF your insurance will pay for it.. find a therapist that specializes in nutritional counseling..
there is a REASON why you have head hunger.. up until my surgery in my life.. Food was the great equalizer.. when i was Upset, Frustrated, depressed.. Food was my constant companion..
now that we no longer have that.. you need to learn some new Tools (psycological) that help you process these stresses so that you dont turn to food..

C. As i was just told this morning.. Dont stress yourself out.. !! (since you dont have your new tools that i mention above) Calm Down.. we are not promised tomorrow.. or that we will continue to loose weight.. Follow your doctors/Surgeons orders to the T.. YOU WILL LOOSE! i understand women loose slower than men.. but i also know they keep it off a lot easier too..yes your weight will go up and down but you will loose it.. and if you dont mind me saying.. you look FABULOUS!!!

I wish you all the luck and blessings in your journey.. and i sincerly hope that this helps you in some way..

David, That is really an issue for me. I know I have been trained to eat on the clock. When it's 11:30 am I need lunch and at 7:00 p.m. I need dinner.  I know the advice is to only eat when you are hungry but it's hard to overcome years of training to eat according to the clock. I deal with it all the time. I wish I had the answer but I don't. I am learning to eat less and only eat until I am full. Man, that 4oz. thing sounds hard to manage. Anyway.. you look fabulous for sure. -- Tom
