I'm one month out and having trouble finding things to snack on.  I just don't know what to choose.  So far, NOTHING, bothers my stomach, but I need something quick, easy and healthy to nibble on because I swear I'm hungry all the time.  I guess while I'm posting, does anyone else feel this way??  let me know, thanks :)  Jill
OHHH, and P.S.  when can I start eating salads?!?!  I want one sooooo bad

Greek Yogurt is a godsend.  You can flavor it with a bit of no-sugar added fruit preserves or non-fat, sugar free pudding mix.  It's delish.

Same with lowfat cottage cheese.  the no sugar jams come in real handy!

According to my program you shouldn't be on solids yet at one month out, but string cheese becomes pretty handy.

Be sure you're getting in enough liquid.  if you're thirsty, your body may sometimes get the signals confused and say that it's hungry.  Try drinking a little water 1/2 an hour before you eat (dont forget not to eat right after drinking).

Be careful of the hunger - you may still be fighting head hunger, which means you're not really hungry but maybe bored or stressed.  I fight head hunger all day at work, which is when I'm at my most bored.

Oh, and leaft green salads are a no no for quite some time (on my program).  No salads for at least six months.  That refers to leafy greens, though - you could still have a little cucumber, tomato, beets, etc..

Cottage cheese can also be flavored with salt and pepper or salsa if you want something not sweet.

Hi I am just a little bit a head of you.  I had my surgery on Sept. 11.  I guess I have just the opposite problem I am not really ever HUNGRY.  I do want to eat sometimes though.  I used sugar free popsicles quite a bit.  Nice and cold, sweet and also gives you liquids.  I know I wanted something "crunchy"  I got some of the "puffin corn".  It is like popcorn without the hulls.  This helped my snacking needs but don't eat more than a few pieces at a time.  They must swell in your pouch and it can be painful.  I am really looking forward to salads a s well but my dietician says at least 6 months.  Oh I tried saltines with a small amount of peanutbutter as well.

Thank you all for your input. However, heres the problem- and maybe there's no solution- but, I just was wishing that there was a good, healthy snack that i can just have sitting around and nibble here and there when i want to munch.  I took your advice about drinking water first to fill in my "hunger".  But,  I feel like I really need a munchy, salty-ish snack.   Does anyone out there feel the same way and do you have any suggestions??  I love you guys and I thank you for always being there.   Jill

What about almonds? 6 or 7. High in protein also. Another poster suggested peanuts. My friend does edamame.
Don't mess with womyn/dragons for you are crunchy and good with reduced fat honey mustard on the side...
