Hi there. I was reading your post and started wondering why you would say this is your last post. After losing the weight & having surgery do you feel like you don't need the support anymore because you have met your goal? In my mind the ride doesn't end just there...does it? Just curious since I am only 5 1/2 months post op.

 Hello,

In response to you questions, once you have reach you goal and feel  100% good about yourself you weight journey will be a part of your pass. You will know what I'm talking about once you have reach your weight goal and had the plastic surgery if any that you need to feel good.

Jerry, you look great! Glad your journey has gone well....I know the feeling. Still come back here everynow and then, though. Went to support group on Saturday. Life goes on and the new life style and living is good....but I try and remember where I have been ...because I never want to go back there.

Best of luck to you!

Hmmmmmmm....................

Now you got me thinking. And THAT is scary LOL! I know what you mean about the journey being over. I met goal weight a long time ago, had MINOR plastics, and don't need to do anything else really. It's like "been there, done that". Even when I go to support groups I'm not needed as much anymore because I'm not the "fresh face" anymore. All the pre ops want advice from the "newbies" ...it hasn't even been 2 years yet!!!!! But yeah ..my journey is over. I figure I'll stick around ...if my story can continue helping people than that is a good thing.

I feel that people need to know that longevity with WLS can be achieved and maintained. Please don't forget these boards. I for one love to hear that 2 or 3 years out people are still maintaining and loving their WLS choice. Thanks for sticking around past goal.

I'm always going to approach this as a life long journey.  I'm 33 years old and have fought with weight all my life.  If I never loose another pound I know I'll still be happy, but I also know that I made a life long commitment to this and will need all the support I can get in order to stay away from back sliding into old habbits.   The surgery was on our bodies, not on our brains.  The stats of regain are extremely high, and I refuse to be a stat.
I'm happy you met your goal and you are happy with who you are, but you should never forget where you came from.

Best of Luck!

For someone who is further out than Jerry.. This is a life long journey, and you get what you give...

Good luck on the rest of your path Jerry, I am glad you feel so much better. That is the point, right?

I'll be sticking around to continue to give.. For what I have been given.
I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!
