Lap band date 10/28!! Holy cow Bat Man!
Had to wait for a pre-op appoinment all the way in November but got a call 10/1 am to fill in for a cancellation. Sat with my surgeon and got the go ahead from him. When I sat down with the nurse to learn the pre-op diet and sign all the consents she casually mentioned that I was scheduled for 10/28 with a liquid diet date of 10/18! OMG!! It is really happening. My friends have been unbelievably supportive and have taken to calling me scrunch... ( every time they mention the surgery wince and hunch over my belly, lol ). My ex wife is staying with me at the hospital as my health care agent ( ain't it great to be a gay divorcee so you can still love your ex- poor folks who cut off all ties,.. that must really suck). Staying with dear friends for a couple days post op. Plan to be in good enough shape to get around the neighborhood with my sons for Halloween! I can really FEEL the real me just aching to get out and she just heard the date!! How cool is that!
