Wow, I didn't even know this existed....!
Hi all....long story short, had the lapband in 2003......after some major slips starting last September, I have had a hiatal hernia repair and have yet to be able to tolerate my band again. It did me well for over 4 years. I lsot about 100 pounds.
Now, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a revision to RNY in December when school lets out. I'm used to all the restriction, it's the malabsorb I'll have to get used to.
Is anyone here from MI? Anyway, glad to see there is a glbt board. I'll be here more often!

I've met a few people who started with lap band and revised to RNY. If it's any consolation, all of them did very well with it, as they were already in many of the necessary habits from dealing with the band. I bet you'll take to it like a duck to water.
