Livermore CA
Am I staying in po dunk USA? lol
I've been looking at hotels and what not and it just seems like I'm in BFE
I've had some people tell me to stay in San Fran and commute. Im not a morning person so commuting isn't a good idea.
I just want to stay in a populated area with restaurants and grocery stores. I was looking at Pleasanton and it looked nice
Hoping to find something with a fridge and microwave so Im not at the mercy of restaurants.
Had this been a year ago I'd ask if there were any bars in the area... but drinking isn't my thing any more :P

Livermore isn't the MIDDLE of nowhere, but it IS just off to the left of Nowhere... ;)
Actually, it's only a few minutes from Pleasanton, which has quite a bit going on, and Livermore isn't all that bad anymore either. You're really only about 20 minutes from Walnut Creek, which has a couple of bars, good for socializing (even if you don't drink).
It's really not all that far out of SF. There's quite a bit to do in both Oakland and Berkeley too... don't feel like EVERYTHING is in SF. I wouldn't stay in the city and commute out to Livermore, but it might not be a bad idea to see if you can get a room in the city for the weekend, maybe Friday and Saturday night, so you can play in town.
