Frustrated!
I just had my surgery on 8/17 and I was losing about 1 lb/day until about 7 days ago. The scale hasn't budged for the past week and I'm actually beyond frustrated. I'm eating my 1/4 cup of protein, 3 time/day and I'm walking for 25 - 30 min. every day, but my weight loss is stalled and it's so early after the surgery. I didn't expect this - is this normal? Has anybody else experienced this so soon after surgery? I'm starting to think that I'm already a failure at this.
This is pretty normal at this point. I stalled at 4 weeks out for TWO weeks. And then I would stall like every 3 months for a couple weeks. It's your body playing catch up. Think about it. You are pretty much starving yourself and your body is not happy about that. Continue what you have been doing and the scale will be moving again. I know it's hard not to look at the scale but try to stop checking! It will only frustrate you.
Totally normal - every single person in my WLS supprt group stalled on week three and/or four. You're totally good - just keep going forward as you have been.
There WILL be more stalls - I wish I could remember specifically when, but I think at the end of month three/beginning of month four there's a nasty one - lasts like 3 weeks, if I recall correctly.
Don't worry about it - it's all part of the plan.

Yep, my wonderful cohorts are right. You will stall. If you're anything like me, it conveniently comes right before good ol mother nature kicks in. As soon as that's over, I drop like 5lbs in 3 days. I know it's totally frustrating, but don't panic. The more you stress, the more your body will hold on to everything for dear life. Well, at least mine does. Stress, lack of sleep, eating too much salt - oh yea. I'll retain water like Shamu.
Just relax and it will be all good :)
Thanks for your responses to this. So I'm not such a WLS freak and it looks like I've got the double whammy here! Mother nature and 3 weeks out!
So, the scale showed that I dropped .4 lbs this am - does this mean the stall is over???? WTF - .4 lbs - that's less than a half a pound.
Man, this is just killin' me! I know - I'm being way whiny here, but hey, I'm eating less than a cup of food/day. I want results baby!

Nope - I doubt your stall's over. Trust me, you'll KNOw when your stall's over.
Here's the best advice I can give you: stop weighing yourself every day. You'll make yourself crazy. Pick one day a week to weigh yourself, you'll be happier for it. The tiny fluctuations of weight you'll lose daily - yes, and GAIN daily - are part of the process. If you watch them all happening you'll want to pull your hair out and start doubting yourself every step of the way.
It's like sausage. Delicious, but you'll never eat it again if you watch it being made.
