you know, sometimes I feel like Glenda, the witch of the north because I can only come onduring certain times of the day/weekend.  I don't try to make a habit of only posting something on here when something good happens because I believe in providing support for everyone.....as much as I can.  however, I had a major wow over this past weekend.  for those of you connected to me through facebook, you already know.  Even at 16 months post-op, I'm still losing weight!  I'm just 10 pounds away now from goal and this past wekeend I went to Kennywood (an amusement park outside of pittsburgh) and for the first time, while waiting in line for a ride, I grabbed the bars on each side of me and lifted myself off the ground.....for several seconds......I was to the point I could tuck my legs under me and hold myself suspended in the air....just by using my arms!  that was my wow for the weekend.  what have been your recent WOWs?

Cool!  I always wanted to be able to do that as a kid.  Never got to play on the monkey bars . . .

you should give it a try.  for me, I was amazed not only that i could do it, but how EASY it was to do it.  I never realized that i spent so many years lugging around a 500 pound body that holding a 240 pound body would be easy LOL

oh man it's right around the corner for you!!!  I'm so happy for you!!!!  just get your head wrapped around the changes that are going to have to be made and you'll be fine.  i've often wished that when they operated on my guts that they would have operated on my brain at the same time LOL  You will be amazed at how the surgery will help you and that you will have no hunger afterwards.  I'm 16 months out and still have yet to feel hunger other than what my brain tells me (which i have to ignore)  LOL

Awesome sweetie!!! I'm so incredibly proud of you. You're definately one of the big success stories :)

As for my "wow" moments, well, I have 2 actually. I finally fit into a size 38 shorts. I'm dumbfounded because I can't remember the last time my pants size didn't have a 4 or even a 5 at the beginning of it. The second is I'm actually at 96 lbs lost. 4 more til the big 100 mark!WHOO HOO!!!!! I have a sneaky suspicion these next 4 lbs are going to take forever to come off LOL

Aaron, I'm sooooooo glad to see you back on here!  You're sorely missed when you're gone.  I love your WOW moment...!  That's a biggie!  I had a similar one this weekend, but I had two I wanted to share:

1> I have a pair of 2xl boxer-style underwear that were given away at the Buffy the Vampire Slayer wrap party.  I loved the shorts and kept them, just in case one day I could wear them.  When I found them buried at the back of my closet this weekend, I realized that though I could finally wear them, most of my underwear is now Extra Large, not 2XL.

It's at that point it hit me...I wear size XL underwear.  Holy crap.

2> I did an assisted chin-up at the gym this weekend - something I never thought I could do.  Yes, it was one, single chin-up, and I needed a machine to help me do it - but holy crap, I did it!
