Thyroid

So after surgery my surgeon took me off all meds, including my thyroid.  In the last couple weeks I have been getting exhausted really easily and not feeling well.  More and more tired, less energy.  Yesterday I have started getting pain in my thyroid and it hurts to touch.  Hurts to swallow.  I am thinking I need to get it checked.  Talked to a nurse friend who says I need blood work asap, but I already ate today.  Going to get it drawn in the morning.  Anyone else had flareups?  Or resolved thyroid issues?  I am surprised as I have not had any complications at all from surgery until now.  I am also concerned I may be anemic.  Thoughts?

Love the new profile picture.  I would definitely head back into your PCP.  Either one seems a likely culprit and the anxiety of worrying can't be helping.

Sorry, unknown territory for me, can't be of help.

That said, had to post to say WOW at the new avatar!  Hubba Hubba!

WHAT THE HELL!!! As far as I know, your thyroid has nothing to do with weight.

Thyroid hormone plays a huge role in metabolism, thus, it does have something to do with weight.

Right but does weight make your thyroid go wacko? THat's what I meant.

I started taking an Iron pill before I go to bed and all of a sudden my brain started working again.  Wow.  what a huge difference.  I am going to start my thyroid back up tomorrow and see what that does....

Are you sure the surgeon didn't tell you just to "hold" the thyroid hormone???  WLS doesn't make the thyroid gland suddenly work correctly.
