Going shopping with no money or limited funds

Hello!

I thought I'd share my experience shopping this weekend.   I've lost about 45lbs so as you can imagine, I am in need of new clothes...Especially for work!   (I have to dress up daily).   I discovered TJ Maxx, Old Navy and Marshalls have clearance racks!!!!!   Some of this stuff is marked down like crazy!

I found a shirt in an XL, assumed it wouldnt fit, but it was only $10 so I thought I'd just save it.  Took it into the fitting room with some other clothes.  Tried it on and it FIT !!!!

I used to wear a XXXL   :)

Life is good....moral of the story - try it on, even if it's tight, you'll be surprised how close you might be!

I have loved shopping in regular stores, on sales racks!  Despite needing lots of new clothes, I think I spent less this year than my last gaining year . . .

I walk by the Gap and Banana Republic now and just smirk and say to myself... "I'll see you in a few more months... get the sale racks ready!"  Hahaha!

Some designer's XL's are really larges in disguise so I agree that you have to try it on.  My dislike of trying on clothes started in the Sears' store at age 8 - "husky" size after "husky" size.  I have found bargains at top stores too - Bloomingdales had some great XL sales this summer.  Macy's had the bait and switch mark-downs which continue to get them into trouble in Massachusetts.

Congratulations on your size change and I hope you continue to have those pleasant suprises.  I still have a couple coats that are just a few inches too small but I should fit them by November.

No kidding.  I was an average size girl with a not so average sized ass when I was a kid.   So, I had to shop for husky sizes and my mom would alter them to fit me.  I think they not only were husky sized, but also had a horrible name , "Toughskins."  Oh yeah...husky boy jeans and being 10...good times.

designer clothing is insanely sized, but I have such a desire to buy a pair of True Religion Jeans!  I'll get them too!    A company called English Laundry is the WORST about small sizing.   I went to Neiman, attempted to try on a shirt....a 3 XL was still to tight!

yes they are.. I actually splurged and got the True Religion jeans.. I thought I would NEVER be able to pull that look off in a million years.. I got the entire outfit.. Put together by a gorgeous and well dressed guy. I tried it on and he said, "Damn, you are smokin'".. I went out with friends and wore the outfit and let me tell you I was turning heads all night long.. I had the hair spiked and the outfit kickin''.. I could not have been happier..
Thanks,
Kevin
