Man, I'm Nervous

Ok, so as some of you may know, I used to live in Nashville and I keep in really good touch with a lot of very dear friends up there. Well, my favorite person in the whole wide world is coming down to help me get through what happened last weekend and will be here in about an hour. The last time she saw me was about 2 months before the surgery. I was about 65lbs heavier and I think this is the thinnest she's ever seen me.

I am so incredibly nervous. To make matters a little more interesting, she's some one I used to date so there's that "I wanna shock the ex" factor. I mean we're just incredibly close friends now and that was years ago, but still. I don't care who ya are, that's still gonna be there.

Were any of you guys really nervous when you meet up with old friends after surgery? How did it go?

It's a small world.  I used to live in Nashville too!  I loved it there!  It was an amazing city!!!!

As far as friends seeing you... and the nerves...

Yes, it is scary!  Infact, when I went back to Nashville people didn't recognize me cuz I had lost 200 lbs... (from my first surgery).  I lost a person and a small child... so yes, nerves are always gonna be there and then you add the "ex" factor... Yeah, I'd be nervous!

Hope all goes well!!!

I saw my best friend about a month ago. It had been years since we saw each other ...and I was 140 pounds smaller. She hugged me and cried. It was sweet.

I saw an old college friend a few months ago.  He was always the handsome one - boyish, great hair, good body.  When I opened to door to see him after a 10 year absence, we'd changed places - he was heavier than me, his hair was receding and his looks were starting to fade.

I know this isn't the same situation as yours, but you made me think of how confusing it was to me to look at him again.  Very wierd.

I geuss nervous really isn't the right word for me.. Excited as all heck.. I was made fun of for being fat for years!! This year is my 25th reunion for high school (went to 3 high schools) So I am reconnecting with a lot of people.. The beautiful people.. Which are mostly now the FAT people..

None of them recognize me.. I love it.
I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!

Everything has been fantastic! Cat (my ex) said I looked "phenominal" which was a huge ego boost :) Even the girls that she brought with her (people I had never met before) have been really awesome. I've explained a little about the surgery and they have all been super supportive.

Oh and the one year without sex record ended officially this morning LOL Sorry if that's TMI but I was really sweating being with some one again. No, Cat and I aren't getting back together. It was just "one of those things" but truth admitted, I'm glad it was her. At least it was some one that I knew I could trust and I was really comfortable with. The term "whoo hoo!!!!" comes to mind LMAO
