Good news, bad news, weird stuff!
This week has been the most challenging since my surgery, which was exactly 4 months ago today. I developed a severe case of acid reflux (OMG!), and had my second fill. Thennnnn, I came home from Oahu feeling not the greatest and had to miss work today because I felt so bad. I couldn't keep anything down. Nothing. After dealing with this all day and not even being able to keep a popsicle down, Madeline took me to the ER. Long story short, after a couple of calls to my surgeon (who's on a different island) helped direct the ER doc in removing some of the fluid from my band. It was a risk having the ER doc do it because he'd never done that procedure before, but the alternative was to have to fly over to Oahu tomorrow and meet with my surgeon so he could drain me. In the meantime, I still couldn't get anything down. This guy helped me out so much and I'm most grateful! The weird part of this is that my surgeon told me there was supposed to be 3cc's but this doc took 4cc's. No idea how that happened.
So that's the bad news. The good news is that I finally broke 200! WOOHOO! For the first time in 16 years, I'm under 200! I'm so happy and feel so good to have accomplished this! For those of you who haven't reached a major landmark, don't stop because the feeling is great. And hopefully it won't be reflux! LOL!

Thanks! I've always lived in remote places but not as unaccessible as this. I was in Alaska for 22 years before coming to Hawaii. Definitely remote, but I could drive from Fairbanks to Anchorage if I wanted. I haven't found anyone who has successfully driven from the Big Island to Oahu. Just doesn't seem to work here. But, you know, unless I had major cardiac issues or something like that, the trade off is worth it. This is my reward for all those years of brutal cold and long winters. Woohoo!
